Currently Reading: Death Note by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata

WP_20141217_002Death Note is the story of Light Yagami, a model high school student who one day comes across a note book. Inside the book it reads The human whose name is written in this note shall die.  He at first doesn’t believe it until he writes the name of a criminal taking hostages on the news and the criminal falls down dead. He then meets the owner of the note, a Shinigami (God of Death) called Ryuk, who only he can see (Ryuk is the character on the cover of the the blue book above.)

Light’s efforts to bring about a crime free utopia by killing all the criminals brings him to the attention of a super detective known only as L, and a deadly game of cat and mouse begins.

I recently finished volumes 1 and 2 and will start 3 tonight. I am hooked. This is a very clever manga with many twists and turns as the hero and villain seek to outwit each other and stay alive.

  1. I recently started watching the Anime on Netflix and I have to say – that is one messed-up story! Super intriguing but messed-up. I bet the Manga is the same. I usually can’t afford to buy Manga but will have to see if it’s at the library.
