Usagi Yojimbo at the Southwark Playhouse

Usagi Yojimbo is one of my favourite comic book epics. It is the story of Miyamoto Usagi, ronin, bodyguard, samurai, rabbit.

Every issue of this comic contains a well-drawn, well-told story with intense action, great humour, and lovable characters. Stan Sakai who writes and draws each issue has deeply researched the period down to the tiny details and each page resonates with his love of the time period and his characters.

I am happy to see that the Southwark Playhouse has staged a live version of Usagi Yojimbo for their Christmas play, and I would advise anyone who can see it to go and see it (I can’t because I’m in Australia).
